Invest in Skånes is one of the partners in the HealthTech Nordic project aiming to accelerate the international scaling of Nordic startups. The project was recently praised by the European Commission as Europe’s best startup and entrepreneurship support project.

By the start of 2020, a new project with a new aim of creating 1 000 new jobs until September 2022 started as the first project ended. 

HealthTech Nordic represents a fast-growing community of 275+ high potential Nordic startups, offering a variety of empowering healthtech solutions. The new solutions allow for a paradigm shift, providing new and better ways of giving and receiving healthcare.

HealthTech Nordic accelerates the growth of startups and unite pioneers in the field of HealthTech. The aim is to connect the dots between innovative solutions, healthcare and a global market. Together, we advance ideas and unite resources to address worldwide healthcare needs while we drive regional development and job creation.

Membership grants access to gatherings and seminars on relevant topics as well as interaction with interested peers, top-level experts, industry leaders, and potential customers. Startups and entrepreneurs based in the Öresund–Kattegat–Skagerrak area with ambitions to grow internationally can also qualify for the HealthTech Nordic Fast Tracks.

Health Tech Nordic by the numbers

  • 881 jobs were created in the Nordics during 3 years (2017-2019), of which 327 jobs in Skåne
  • Estimated tax revenues: 212,9 MSEK over three years (The estimate is based on the 881 jobs being created during the three years)
  • Close to a third, 30 %, of the member companies (275+)  sell on all continents but Antarctica, main markets outside of the Nordics are UK, Germany and USA
  • The member companies reach 3 546 919 users and 727 428 paying customers worldwide

More about the project

The HealthTech Nordic project is run by six partners in the Nordics, including Invest in Skåne, Innovation Skåne, and SmiLe Incubator.

The project is partially financed by Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak, European Regional Development Fund. The goal is to create at least 1 000 new healthtech jobs in the Öresund-Kattegatt-Skagerack region until September 2022.
